Formatting with LaTeX

Every submission and every new version must be written in LaTeX. Upload the source together with the PDF compiled from it; the editors check that they match. The source is archived with the paper but not published.

Download the template project (.zip) Single .tex file

The .zip has a main.tex with an example figure, the figure file, and a README. Upload it to Overleaf with New Project → Upload Project.

Requirements

Figures and files

You upload two things: your whole LaTeX project as one .zip, and the PDF compiled from it.

my-paper.zip
├── main.tex your paper
├── references.bib your bibliography, if you use BibTeX
└── figures/
    ├── survey-results.png
    └── map.pdf
  1. Put each figure file in your project, for example in a figures/ folder. Use PNG or JPG for photos and screenshots, and PDF for charts and diagrams (they stay sharp).
  2. Include it with \includegraphics[width=\columnwidth]{figures/survey-results} inside a figure environment with a \caption; the template shows how.
  3. Use simple file names without spaces: survey-results.png, not Survey Results (final).png.
  4. When the PDF looks right, download the project: in Overleaf, Menu → Download → Source (the .zip) and Menu → Download → PDF. Working on your own computer? Zip the folder with the .tex, .bib and figures.

When you upload, CCCURJ checks that every figure, \input file and bibliography your .tex uses is in the .zip, and tells you exactly which is missing. Leave out build files (.aux, .log, .out); they are not needed.

So Google Scholar can index your paper

New to LaTeX?

Upload the template to Overleaf, a free online editor, and use its guides. Download the PDF and the source (Menu > Download > Source) when you are done.
