About CCCURJ
CCCURJ, the California Community College Undergraduate Research Journal, is a student-run, open-access archive for research by California Community College students, with a peer-reviewed journal, CCCURJ Flagship. Both accept research articles, literature reviews, replication studies, research notes, datasets, software and research in progress (see artifact types).
Preprints in the archive are checked by the editors but not peer-reviewed. Work published in CCCURJ Flagship has passed open peer review, and its reviews are published with it. See how preprints and CCCURJ Flagship articles differ.
Why CCCURJ
Nearly half of recent science and engineering graduates attended a community college [1], yet 6% or fewer studies of STEM research experiences include community college or transfer students [2]. CCCURJ gives these students a place to publish, and practice in writing, peer review and editing.

Who can submit
The submitting author must be a current or recent California Community College student, or have done the research while enrolled at one. University or faculty co-authors are welcome if a qualifying student made a substantive contribution. To submit, see the submission overview.
Who we are
CCCURJ was founded by Maxwell Koegler, a student at Diablo Valley College, and is run by students with faculty advice. Preprint editors check work posted to the archive; managing editors run peer review for CCCURJ Flagship (who reviews what). The first CCCURJ Flagship issue is planned for March 2027.
Get involved
Students can submit work or review for CCCURJ as a peer reviewer, preprint editor or managing editor; the most active editors and reviewers are thanked on the leaderboard. Faculty can mentor authors, co-author or join the Faculty Advisory Board: see for faculty.
Reporting a concern
If you see plagiarism, fabricated results, harassment, an undisclosed conflict of interest or another serious problem, report it to the admins. Use the Report a concern link on the paper's abstract page; authors can report a reviewer from their CCCURJ Flagship application page, and reviewers and editors can report from their own pages. You need an account. Only the admins see reports, and they are not shared with the person reported.
